"As Project Manager Hardware you will work within our internal project office, in order to further shape Capgemini Engineering´s growth ambitions and in line with our corporate strategy to manage more projects for large international accounts. In your role as Project Manager, you strengthen our high-tech expertise through the realization of Capgemini Engineering projects and you manage ongoing projects with a growing need in resources, expansion and planning. You work together with internal and external stakeholders to create structure for these complex projects and provide the most optimal service to the customer. In this role you will focus on projects within the high-tech mechanical and mechatronic industry."

Your Challenge:

  • You manage (multiple) projects at the intersection of business and technology in mechanical, and mechatronic development.
  • You are responsible to formulate and execute the business case and the project plan.
  • Identify the skills and competences needed to execute the project.
  • Responsible to allocate resources to the project and identification of potential skills gaps.
  • Prioritize the resources to be used and the work to be executed, which helps the team to organize and to meet the quality targets.
  • Serve as the interface between the customer, project team and stakeholders, including resource managers and delivery manager.
  • Identify the risks in the project and determine risk response strategies
  • Coach and advise team members and give them mentorship, both technically and organizationally, as well as soft skills how to approach the customer including agile development when applicable.
  • Builds and maintain the project organization, helps the teams to prioritize, chooses or coaches the way of working and select the appropriate management tools.
  • Able to identify the right project methodology to be used for the duration of the project.
  • Deploys process improvements, supports continuous improvement of teams and makes the project organization efficient and visible, in line with departmental and project processes and compliance to corporate policies/rules/procedures.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in business, mechanical engineering, or relevant working experience in the High-Tech industry.
  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience focused on mechanical/mechatronic development and R&D.
  • Netherlands based. You must be able to visit the customer location (Veldhoven) and sit together with team members in one of our offices when necessary.
  • Professional knowledge of project management methods, Waterfall and Agile frameworks and estimation techniques (resources, time and risks). Preferably PMP, ACP, SAFe or Prince-2 certified).
  • Knowledge of problem solving, multidisciplinary development processes, quality systems and industry standards.
  • Soft skills like people management and coaching, team management and enablement.
  • Profound negotiation skills to enable upsell or contract renewal with the customer.
  • Experienced with office 365-tools and other (cloud-based) tools, such as: Microsoft Dynamics (or other ERP-systems), PowerBi, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project, Microsoft 365-office tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to complex organizational structures, varying cultures, and potentially conflicting goals is critical. Demonstrated history of working in globally distributed teams.
  • You have excellent communication skills Dutch and English (C1 Level is a must).
