Bid Manager

“As Bid manager, you are responsible to support our bid teams in creating the winning bid. You ensure the bid teams work according to the agreed standards and processes, help them in finding the right balance between internal and external value of the bid and ensure the quality of the bid is to the highest standard. You challenge the bid teams on the content of the bid, validate the risks and facilitate the bid teams in getting the required approvals to submit the bid. You work closely with the division managers, project directors and the bid managers to make sure the bid teams are optimal staffed, to improve the efficiency of the bid process and support the bid teams through standardization of our bids to increase quality and offer maximum added customer value. On international bids, you work closely with colleagues from other regions to coordinate the bid approval and assign risk management at the right level.”

Your Challenge

The bid office is a team of bid managers/specialists in charge of leading successful proposals, enabling high quality bids that optimize internal profit and maximize value towards the customer.

  • Take ownership of the bid process, a “real” gatekeeper;
  • Guide bid teams: find solutions to challenges, from commercial to financial;
  • Hands-on and ready to step-in for complex bids and when needed on ad-hoc basis;
  • Manage and coach bid teams;
  • Reporting, weekly, monthly;
  • Manage and control bid office budget;
  • Review/update/upgrade all bids;
  • Continuously improve and simplify;
  • Arrange the approval of the bids according to the company rules;
  • Challenge the teams to perform active risk management and validate the risks;
  • Support the teams in standardization of offers and business cases.

What you will bring

  • Education level. BSc or MSc in Business or Engineering;
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a technical industry;
  • Business-, commercial- and financial acumen;
  • Stakeholder management;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Experience in Project management;
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language, written and oral;
  • Able to work ad-hoc and on several tasks in parallel;
  • Accurate worker;
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
